Group itinerary

Arrive in Vietnam’s energetic capital, where your private transfer will take you to a boutique hotel in the heart of the city. In the evening, connect with your Soca Islands tour guide and fellow travelers over a relaxed dinner at a hidden local favorite an ideal introduction to the journey ahead.

Step into everyday Hanoi life with a visit to a local home in the Old Quarter. Over tea and conversation, gain insight into daily traditions and customs. Head out with your host to a nearby market, selecting fresh ingredients before returning to prepare classic dishes together. After your hands-on cooking experience, enjoy free time to wander Hanoi’s lively streets, cafés, and markets.

Leave the city behind and travel to Ninh Binh, a region known for its dramatic limestone peaks and peaceful rice fields. Spend the afternoon at your own pace relax, explore, or opt for a scenic boat and bike excursion through Trang An, paired with a visit to the ancient capital of Hoa Lu.

Venture into Cuc Phuong National Park for a day immersed in nature and conservation. Visit a primate rescue center to learn about endangered species and ongoing protection efforts. Continue with a guided hike through dense jungle landscapes before exploring a prehistoric cave where ancient human remains were discovered.

Board a boat and cruise through the striking limestone formations of Bai Tu Long Bay, a quieter and less crowded alternative to Ha Long Bay. Enjoy a day of kayaking, swimming, and unwinding on deck, along with a cooking session onboard. As night falls, try squid fishing beneath the stars before settling into your overnight stay on the water.

Start your morning with a calming tai chi session on deck as the sun rises over the bay. Visit a traditional floating fishing village for a glimpse into local life before continuing your journey. Fly south to Da Nang and transfer to the charming riverside town of Hoi An.

Explore the countryside surrounding Hoi An, meeting local artisans and discovering traditional crafts. Try your hand at fishing in a unique coracle boat, then enjoy a relaxed afternoon wandering the town’s lantern-lined streets. In the evening, come together for a farewell dinner, celebrating the shared experiences and memories from the trip.

After breakfast, say your goodbyes and make your way to the airport for your onward journey. Leave Vietnam with lasting memories, meaningful connections, and a deeper appreciation for the country’s culture and way of life.

Fly into Hanoi International Airport (HAN) and out of Danang International Airport (DAD).

Yes. If you arrive on Day 1 of your adventure or book pre-tour accommodation with us, your airport arrival transfer is included. If you choose alternative pre-tour accommodation or arrive by another mode of transport, you’ll need to arrange your own arrival transfer.

Our arrival transfers are private to Soca Islands and are organised in groups based on flight times. Sometimes this means a short wait at the airport until other flights arrive.

While we’re not medical professionals, we want to help you prepare for a safe and healthy adventure. Here are some tips:

  1. Consult with a healthcare professional: Schedule an appointment with your travel nurse or doctor at least eight weeks before your adventure to get any necessary vaccines or medications.
  2. Up-to-date medical advice:
    • US residents: Check the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
    • UK residents: Visit the NHS Fit For Travel website.
    • Australian residents: Refer to the Smart Traveler Health website.

3. Government travel advice:

    There are no scheduled activities on the final day, so feel free to book your departure at your own convenience.

    We recommend arriving before 3 pm on Day 1 to make it in time for the welcome event. But don’t worry no matter when you land, we’ll have an airport transfer ready for you.

    We believe solo travelers shouldn’t have to pay extra to explore the world. That’s why our group trips are designed around shared accommodation and do not include a single supplement. Solo travelers joining our group trips are paired in twin or multi-share rooms with another traveler of the same sex for the duration of the trip.

    Some of our Independent trips are structured differently. For these itineraries, solo travelers will need to book at the single occupancy rate.

    Tips are not included in the cost of this tour. Remember, tipping is entirely at your discretion and based on what you feel comfortable with.
