Group itinerary

Arrive in Reykjavik early and start wandering the city streets on your own. Marvel at the towering Hallgrímskirkja Church, stroll down the buzzing Laugavegur shopping district, and try not to trip over Icelandic pronunciations (Duolingo, we’re looking at you).

Later, unwind at the world-famous Blue Lagoon, soaking in the warm, mineral-rich waters. In the afternoon, we’ll regroup for a private culinary tour, sampling Reykjavik’s top-rated dishes. From traditional Icelandic bites to a taste of Brennivin, the local “Black Death” spirit, you’ll get a flavor-packed introduction to Icelandic cuisine. Afterward, the evening is yours to explore the city with your new travel crew.

After breakfast, we head south into Iceland’s rugged, sparsely populated landscapes. First stop: Seljalandsfoss, where you can hike behind the 60-meter waterfall for a truly epic view. Next, we’ll check out the Dyrhólaey promontory, where sweeping views of Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, black volcanic beaches, and Reynisfjara’s lava stacks await.

Lunch is in the quaint town of Vik, followed by a visit to the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, famed for its basalt columns and dramatic waves. The day continues with a journey to Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, a surreal landscape straight out of a fantasy novel. We’ll end the day at our remote hotel, enjoying a traditional Icelandic dinner under the sparkling night sky.

After breakfast, we start the journey back toward Reykjavik, stopping at the Skogafoss Falls, a legendary site where Vikings supposedly hid treasure behind the cascading waters. See if you can spot any glimmers of gold or diamonds!

Next up: Sky Lagoon, where you can relax in geothermal pools and enjoy lunch with panoramic ocean views. Later, we arrive back in Reykjavik for a final group dinner. Night owls can cap it off with a pub crawl, celebrating your Icelandic adventure in style.

Wrap up your trip over breakfast with your travel buddies before catching your flight. If you have extra time, explore more of Reykjavik: admire the glassy Harpa Concert Hall, stroll along the Old Harbor, or take in sunset views at Grotta Lighthouse.

For those with extra days, consider renting a car to explore more of the island, go whale watching, or continue chasing waterfalls and glaciers on your own. Iceland’s magic doesn’t end here.

Tour FAQS

Fly into Reykjavik (KEF). Fly out of Reykjavik (KEF)

Yes. If you arrive on Day 1 of your adventure or book pre-tour accommodation with us, your airport arrival transfer is included. If you choose alternative pre-tour accommodation or arrive by another mode of transport, you’ll need to arrange your own arrival transfer.

Our arrival transfers are private to Soca Islands and are organised in groups based on flight times. Sometimes this means a short wait at the airport until other flights arrive.

Please keep in mind that our itinerary, activities, and hotels might change. These adjustments could happen with little notice due to factors like availability, weather conditions, seasonal shifts, or other circumstances beyond our control. Rest assured, we always aim to minimise any impact on your experience. Occasionally, we may tweak the itinerary to try out fresh ideas and keep the adventure exciting.

We believe solo travelers shouldn’t have to pay extra to explore the world. That’s why our group trips are designed around shared accommodation and do not include a single supplement. Solo travelers joining our group trips are paired in twin or multi-share rooms with another traveler of the same sex for the duration of the trip.

Some of our Independent trips are structured differently. For these itineraries, solo travelers will need to book at the single occupancy rate.

Tips are not included in the cost of this tour. Remember, tipping is entirely at your discretion and based on what you feel comfortable with.
