Group itinerary

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a private transfer will take you to your hotel set beneath the towering presence of Mount Kilimanjaro. Unwind by the pool before meeting your group and Soca Islands tour guide for a welcome drink and dinner the perfect introduction to your adventure.

After breakfast, set out on a rewarding hike along the scenic Shira Route in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. This 3.5-hour trek winds through rugged landscapes, climbing to around 3,500 metres. Keep watch for playful Colobus monkeys as you traverse the terrain, then celebrate your achievement with a well-earned picnic lunch before continuing on to Arusha.

Take a short flight into the iconic Serengeti National Park, one of the most wildlife-rich regions on Earth. Settle into your tented camp, spotting animals along the way, and enjoy lunch surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive before returning to camp for dinner beneath a blanket of stars.

Start the day with an optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise, drifting over the vast Serengeti plains (additional cost). Later, embark on morning and afternoon game drives, searching for Africa’s incredible wildlife from lions and elephants to giraffes and zebras immersing yourself fully in this untamed landscape.

Bid farewell to the Serengeti and visit a traditional Maasai village, gaining insight into daily life and customs of this iconic community. Continue to the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast natural wonder formed millions of years ago and one of Africa’s best wildlife-viewing locations. Enjoy a scenic picnic inside the crater before an afternoon game drive, then head to your lodge for dinner.

Explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on a guided nature walk, trekking through forest trails to waterfalls and the remarkable Elephant Caves. Later, visit a local family in Karatu for a hands-on cooking experience. Prepare traditional dishes together and share a meal before returning to your lodge for a relaxing evening surrounded by the sounds of the bush.

Visit a local social enterprise supporting artisans with disabilities before enjoying lunch in Arusha. Then, fly to the tropical island of Zanzibar, where white-sand beaches and turquoise waters await. Settle in and enjoy a peaceful stroll along the shore as palm trees sway in the ocean breeze.

Spend the day exploring Zanzibar at your own pace. Relax by the beach or opt for a guided tour of Stone Town, a historic hub once central to the spice trade. In the evening, consider heading to Nungwi Beach to experience its lively atmosphere and beachfront bars.

Enjoy another day of leisure on the island whether that’s lounging by the pool or joining optional excursions. As the day winds down, gather with your group for a scenic sunset cruise, followed by a farewell dinner to celebrate your journey together.

Make your way to Zanzibar International Airport for your onward journey, with assistance available if needed. As your adventure comes to an end, leave with unforgettable memories of Tanzania’s wildlife, landscapes, and culture and a renewed sense of wonder for the world.

Please keep in mind that our itinerary, activities, and hotels might change. These adjustments could happen with little notice due to factors like availability, weather conditions, seasonal shifts, or other circumstances beyond our control. Rest assured, we always aim to minimise any impact on your experience. Occasionally, we may tweak the itinerary to try out fresh ideas and keep the adventure exciting.

We believe solo travelers shouldn’t have to pay extra to explore the world. That’s why our group trips are designed around shared accommodation and do not include a single supplement. Solo travelers joining our group trips are paired in twin or multi-share rooms with another traveler of the same sex for the duration of the trip.

Some of our Independent trips are structured differently. For these itineraries, solo travelers will need to book at the single occupancy rate.

Tips are not included in the cost of this tour. Remember, tipping is entirely at your discretion and based on what you feel comfortable with.
