Group itinerary

Arrive in Seoul and take some time to unwind after your journey, settling comfortably into your hotel. Later in the evening, meet your group and Soca Islands tour guide for a relaxed welcome dinner, your first taste of Korean cuisine and the start of the adventure.

Begin the day exploring the grandeur of Gyeongbokgung Palace, a historic icon that reflects over six centuries of Korean heritage. If timing aligns, witness the traditional guard-changing ceremony. Continue south to Suwon, once Korea’s capital, where impressive fortress walls and the Hwaseong Haenggung Palace await. After lunch, travel onward to Jeonju and wander through its picturesque Hanok Village, filled with traditional homes, artisan crafts, and charming galleries.

Visit the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), one of the most significant and symbolic borders in the world. Explore key sites including the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, Dora Observatory, and the Joint Security Area, gaining powerful insight into Korea’s divided past and hopes for reunification. Return to Seoul and spend your evening in the lively Hongdae district, known for its creative energy, street performances, and vibrant nightlife.

Please note: A passport is required. DMZ visits are subject to change due to military conditions.

Travel by high-speed train to Gyeongju, a city rich in history and often called an open-air museum. Visit Bulguksa Temple, a UNESCO-listed site nestled on Mount Toham, and meet local monks for a glimpse into monastic life. End the day with a traditional performance that beautifully showcases Korea’s cultural and spiritual legacy.

Journey to Busan, South Korea’s vibrant seaside city. Take in the coastal atmosphere at Haeundae Beach, visit the stunning Haedong Yonggungsa Temple perched above the ocean, and explore the city’s lively markets. In the evening, dive into Busan’s food scene at Bupyeong Kkangtong Night Market, with time to explore Jagalchi Fish Market or shop at Shinsegae Centum City.

Say farewell to South Korea as you travel onward to Japan. Upon arrival in Osaka, enjoy a free day to relax or explore at your own pace. For those eager to dive in, an optional food tour offers the chance to sample local favorites like okonomiyaki, tempura, and wagyu beef.

Spend the day discovering Osaka on your own terms or join an optional excursion. Visit the majestic Himeji Castle and tranquil Kokoen Gardens, or take a memorable day trip to Hiroshima and Miyajima Island, home to the iconic floating torii gate and historic Peace Memorial Park.

Depart Osaka for Nara, Japan’s first capital, where sacred deer roam freely through Nara Park. Visit Kasuga Taisha Shrine, famous for its lantern-lined pathways, before continuing to Kyoto, Japan’s cultural heart, known for its preserved traditions and serene landscapes.

Walk through the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Forest before trying your hand at traditional fan painting. Enjoy a memorable lunch with a Maiko, offering a rare glimpse into Kyoto’s geisha culture. Later, explore the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine, where thousands of red torii gates wind their way up the mountainside.

Travel aboard the Shinkansen to Odawara, enjoying a bento box along the way. Arrive in Hakone, known for its natural beauty and traditional ryokan stays. In the evening, unwind in a soothing onsen, surrounded by peaceful mountain scenery.

Cruise across Lake Hakone, with potential views of Mount Fuji reflecting on the water. Ride the Hakone Ropeway for sweeping panoramic views before continuing to Tokyo, where modern energy meets timeless tradition.

Start your day at Tokyo Skytree for breathtaking city views. Explore the historic Asakusa district and visit Senso-ji Temple before experiencing a hands-on bonsai demonstration. End the day crossing the famous Shibuya Crossing and enjoying a scenic dinner cruise on Tokyo Bay.

Enjoy a full day to explore Tokyo at your own pace. Whether it’s shopping, café hopping, or revisiting favorite spots, take this time to experience the city exactly how you like before the next leg of your journey.

Depart Tokyo and arrive in Taipei for the Rotary International Convention. Spend the coming days engaging with global attendees, attending sessions, and enjoying cultural performances. No scheduled group activities are planned, giving you full flexibility to immerse yourself in the convention experience.

Please keep in mind that our itinerary, activities, and hotels might change. These adjustments could happen with little notice due to factors like availability, weather conditions, seasonal shifts, or other circumstances beyond our control. Rest assured, we always aim to minimise any impact on your experience. Occasionally, we may tweak the itinerary to try out fresh ideas and keep the adventure exciting.

We believe solo travelers shouldn’t have to pay extra to explore the world. That’s why our group trips are designed around shared accommodation and do not include a single supplement. Solo travelers joining our group trips are paired in twin or multi-share rooms with another traveler of the same sex for the duration of the trip.

Some of our Independent trips are structured differently. For these itineraries, solo travelers will need to book at the single occupancy rate.
